G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Celebrates Completion of $42.5 Million Columbus Expansion

Multi-year investment adds jobs, modernizes operations and positions longtime Columbus company for continued growth

Columbus, Ohio — G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers marked the completion of a $45.2 million investment in its Columbus operations with the opening of new office and warehouse facilities that position the company for continued growth while introducing advanced automation and logistics technologies.

The multi-year investment includes a new 25,000-square-foot office, a 77,100-square-foot warehouse expansion and more than $17 million in new production equipment, packaging technology and autonomous material handling systems. Together, the improvements strengthen one of the company’s largest operations and reinforce Columbus’ role as a key hub in G&J Pepsi’s regional network.

Originally announced in 2023, the project committed to creating 44 new jobs. Since then, G&J Pepsi has exceeded that goal and grown by nearly 10% to 661 Columbus employees while continuing to invest in technology, workforce development and operational efficiency.

By the Numbers:

· $45.2 million total investment

· 25,000 square feet of new office space

· 77,100 square feet of new warehouse space

· 661 employees in Columbus, up from 604 in 2023

· Over 50,000 cases produced and distributed per day

“Our investment in Columbus has always been about building for the future,” said Tim Trant, CEO of G&J Pepsi. “By expanding our facilities, embracing innovation and investing in our people, we’re strengthening our ability to serve customers, support our associates and grow alongside the community that has helped make our success possible. This campus positions us for continued growth and opportunity for years to come.”

Among the facility’s newest innovations is the deployment of autonomous industrial vehicles that move materials throughout the warehouse, helping improve safety and efficiency while supporting employees as production volumes continue to grow.

“Great companies don’t stand still,” said Jonas Peterson, president of One Columbus. “G&J Pepsi’s investment shows how established employers continue to reinvent themselves through technology, modern facilities and investment in their workforce. That commitment strengthens the Columbus Region’s manufacturing base and reinforces why companies continue to choose to grow here.”

For more than 60 years, G&J Pepsi has operated in Columbus, serving customers throughout the region while continuing to evolve alongside changing consumer demand and advances in manufacturing and distribution technology.

“G&J Pepsi has been part of the fabric of Columbus for generations, and this investment shows the company is committed to growing here for generations to come,” said Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “Their continued investment in jobs, innovation and one of our historic neighborhoods reflects exactly the kind of long-term partnership that strengthens our city.”

As companies modernize their operations, investments increasingly focus on technology that improves productivity while creating stronger workplaces for employees.

“G&J Pepsi’s continued investment in Columbus reflects the strength of Ohio’s manufacturing and logistics economy,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This project brings together advanced technology, workforce growth and a company with deep roots in the state, demonstrating how Ohio helps existing employers modernize, expand and compete.”
